The Grammy award winning singer and pianist Norah Jones performs in India for the first time during Summer's Day, a one-day festival specially designed for women. 


Jones, the daughter of Indian sitar player Ravi Shankar, is to give a highly anticipated performance at the event.  


The announcement was made by OML CEO Vijay Nair, organizer of the festival, on his Twitter account. In introducing the upcoming performance by the American artist, Nair praised her unique vocal abilities. "She has her signature style - not many artistes can claim of having one. And she is one of the best live acts to watch", he said.
