Citroën starts producing successor to 2CV model

The French automobile manufacturer Citroën starts producing a successor to its iconic 2CV model.
The new car will have the same equipment levels and simple construction as the original Deux Chevaux Vapeur, but contrary to its predecessor it will not be presented to the public as a low-cost model.
The model will also not look exactly like the original 2CV, although Citroën boss Frédéric Banzet described the car as “simple, economical, modern, affordable".

Citroën plans to start selling the new model in Europe in 2014.
