Trial of former UK Secretary Huhne resumes

Speeding trial of former Energy Secretary Chris Huhne resumes. Mr. Huhne and his former wife, Vicky Pryce, are charged with an alleged speeding offence and perverting the course of justice.
The former politician is accused of having convinced his former wife to take the blame for a speeding offence and allow Huhne to keep a clean record. According to the prosecution, there is enough evidence to prove that Mr. Huhne was the one driving the car.
Although the offence took place in 2003, it only became public after the marriage of Chris Huhne and Vicky Pryce came to an end following the disclosure that the former had an extra marital affair.
Mr. Huhne resigned from his position of Energy Secretary on February 3, 2012.
