German Formula 1 race driver Sebastian Vettel is set to join the Ferrari team at the start of the season. Vettel, 25, is currently driving for Austrian team Red Bull Racing.
The contract Vettel has signed with the Ferrari team contains the option to join depending on the results achieved by the Italian squad in the 2013 season.
Vettel is double F1 world champion and is in the running champion for the 2013 world title. Vettel's transfer to Ferrari has been endorsed by Fernando Alonso, the team's highest ranking driver who won the world title in 2010 and 2011. The line-up is dubbed to become one of the strongest in F1.
Earlier in the year, Lewis Hamilton signed a three-year contract to join German squad Mercedes in 2013.
