Cubans no longer need exit permits for foreign travel -
Passport Cuba
Wikipedia-Rindo75
The Cuban government issues a new law stating that Cuban citizens no longer require exit permits to travel abroad.

Under the new law, Cubans will only require a valid passport and a visa to leave the country. Moreover, they are allowed to stay abroad for up to 24 months instead of the current 11 months.

According to state media, the move of President Raul Castro modernizes the migration laws for current and future circumstances.

Previously, Cuban citizens were forced to go through a long and costly process in order to receive a travel permit. Cuba has a history of tagging those who try to leave the country as traitors or enemies of the revolution.

The government now acknowledges that many Cubans want to travel abroad for economic reasons and recognizes that the country can benefit from the capital and knowledge that these foreign travelers bring back with them.
