Grand Theft Auto V hits stores later than planned

Games developer Rockstar releases the next installment of the hit Grand Theft Auto months after its initial planned release in spring.

Late January, Rockstar apologized for the delay in a press release. "We know this is about four months later than originally planned and we know that this short delay will come as a disappointment to many of you," the statement read, "but, trust us, it will be worth the extra time."

The fifth edition of the award-winning game will be available for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. 

A company press release claims the game offers "the largest and most thriving game-world we have ever created set in the sprawling city of Los Santos and for miles beyond- from the tops of the mountains to the depths of the ocean."

The video game series commonly features characters who must attempt to rise through the ranks of the criminal underworld.
