Jermaine Jackson, the older brother of the late Michael Jackson, attends court for a hearing regarding his petition to change his surname. 


The changes he wishes to make, from 'Jackson' to 'Jacksun', are minimal and are said to make no difference phonetically. 


Other than citing 'artistic reasons', Jermaine has not offered any explanations for the move, which technically alienates him from his famous familial connections. 


At the time in which Jermaine filed his name change petition, in November 2012, he was also engaged in a promotional tour of You Are Not Alone, a new book he has written about his late superstar brother Michael.
