Iran and IAEA in new round of talks
|
|
Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) meet in a new round of talks on Tehran's controversial uranium enrichment program with the aim to restart the stalled nuclear dialogue.
The last round of talks on the disputed atomic program took place in the summer, when the agency attempted to resume the probe into Iran's nuclear activity. It failed, however, to make concrete progress.
The European Union, Israel and the US suspect Iran has been secretly developing nuclear weapons. The Islamist country, however, denies such allegations and demands Western sanctions on its economy to be eased.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has repeatedly stated that his country is ready to launch military attack on Iran's nuclear sites if diplomacy fails.
