The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is to visit Myanmar for talks on the crisis faced by minority Rohingya Muslims in the the Rakhine state. The delegation led by Secretary-General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu includes foreign ministers from OIC member states.
The visit was organized at the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) meeting held in Djibouti.
At the meeting, the CFM brought into the attention of the member states the urgency of restoring Rohingya Muslims' nationality and citizenship rights, and called to support Muslims in Myanmar.
According to the UN, the 800,000 Rohingya residing in Myanmar are among the most persecuted minorities in the world. They practice Sunni Islam.
