A new Jimi Hendrix album is out, containing twelve previously unreleased tracks.
According to the website of the late American singer and songwriter, the songs on the new album entitled People, Hell and Angels suggest "new, experimental directions", which point to Hendrix testing a new musical direction by himself without the help of his band, the Jimi Hendrix Experience.
In the period between 1968-1969, when the twelve tracks were recorded, the legendary guitarist was experimenting with new sounds such as horns, keyboards, percussion and a second guitar.
It is believed that Hendrix intended the records for the First Days of the New Rising Sun album, which he was working on when he died in 1970. The musician's last album Electric Ladyland is considered as one of the top 100 greatest albums of all time.
