Dalai Lama to visit New Orleans
The visit is sponsored by the Tulane University, whose dean Ronald Marks has lead a graduate social work class in India that enables students to work with Tibetan refugees.
The 14th Dalai Lama has traveled to many Western capitals and has managed to gain international support for the cause of the Tibetans who militate for the lifting of the Chinese occupation. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989 and throughout his incumbency has received numerous honorary degrees from the world's most prestigious universities.
