Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae halt evictions for holidays

Fannie Mae stated that its eviction moratorium would apply to single-family homes and two-to four-unit properties from December 19, while Freddie Mac will suspend eviction from December 17.
"We are instructing our foreclosure attorneys to suspend pending eviction lockouts on foreclosed homes in order to provide a greater measure of certainty to families during the holiday season," said Tracy Mooney, Senior Vice President of Servicing at Freddie Mac.
The aid means families will avoid eviction for the holidays, but does not mean the foreclosure process will be put on hold.
Freddie Mac stated that the firms which handle evictions for the company will continue filing foreclosure documents, enabling the eviction process to resume after January 2.
