Fiat cuts 1,500 Polish jobs

Fiat is to cut 1,500 Polish jobs as part of a restructuring plan aimed at reducing the negative impact of the shrinking European car market.


The layoffs are to be operated at the company's plant in Tychy, a city located in Silesia region, located approximately 20 kilometers from Katowice.


Due to a fall in demand, Fiat has already reduced the capacity of the Tychy plant. 


According to reports, demand on the European car market fell by almost 10 percent in October compared to October 2011.
