Daniel Day-Lewis and Steven Spielberg are expected to walk the red carpet at the Lincoln première in Dublin.


The Irish lead actor and the director of the film will be joined by Sally Field, who played the president's wife, Mary Todd Lincoln.

Day-Lewis is said to be hosting a Lincoln themed ball at the Burlington Hotel to raise funds for the new Wicklow Hospice in Magheramore, near his Wicklow home.

The ball will also feature an auction, in which various memorabilia from the film, along with Day-Lewis' Lincoln costume, a signed original script and 15-litre bottle of Moët & Chandon champagne signed by the cast will be up for grabs.
