Simon Cowell returns to Britain's Got Talent

Simon Cowell returns to the judging panel of Britain's Got Talent after a two-year absence. He is joined by returning judges Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams.
Since 2010, the music and television producer has been focusing on the overseas version of his show The X Factor, starring on the American judging panel for the series. The conflicting schedule meant that Cowell would skip out on the pre-recorded auditions for Britain's Got Talent, only appearing on-screen for the show's live performances.
However, both Britain's Got Talent and the original UK X Factor have suffered during Cowell's absence and have seen their audience slip by several millions since he moved to the US.
The 2013 season of Britain's Got Talent and the UK X Factor are the last ones under the current contract between Cowell's production company and the show's broadcasting network, ITV. A new deal between Cowell and ITV would mean addressing both show's drop in the ratings.
For the 2013 season of Britain's Got Talent the show's makers are offering a £10,000 reward for anyone who suggests a performer for the show. If the person or act suggested goes on to win, the scout will be able to claim their prize.
