Samuel Chin retires from his position as chairman of Foxconn International Holdings Ltd (FIH), the world's largest cellphone contract-making company, to spend more time with his family.


The loss-making company will replace Chin with Tong Wenn-hsin, an executive director with the company. The move comes just months after FIH appointed a new CEO.


"Mr. Chin has confirmed that he has no disagreement with the board and there is no other matter relation to his retirement that needs to be brought to the attention of the shareholders of the company," a FIH statement read.


The company has lost a quarter of its value since the beginning of 2012 following dismal orders made by several clients such as Nokia.
