Last.fm ends Radio features in most countries

Last.fm shuts down its radio services in most countries, meaning that users outside a few selected countries will no longer be able to play their tunes on their mobile phones and internet browsers.

The service will remain available in the US, the UK, Germany, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland and Brazil. However, users in the remaining countries will now be subjected to paid subscription.

Paid subscription was not previously required for users in the UK, US and Germany, but licensing fees for music are expensive and most companies are no longer able to provide a free service.
