The annual Gaidar Forum is held, with the theme "Russia and the world: challenges of integration".
On the agenda are, among others, talks about the position of Russia in the world economy; the role of state intervention in the macro-economy; the world monetary system; Russia and the G20; promoting global economic growth; prospects for the world economy; and business development, healthcare and youth in Russia.
The conference is a high-profile meeting place for top Russian and foreign academics, public servants, politicians and business leaders. It has a wide range of prestigious forum partners, which include the OECD, Coca Cola Company, the Moscow Times, Harvard Business Review, Ernst & Young, and Unilever.
The Forum was named after Yegor Timurovich Gaidar (1956-2009), a Russian policy scientist and statesman best known as the architect of economic "shock therapy" in Russia after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
