Google faces a deadline to present EU regulators with a detailed commitment text that would settle concerns regarding the company's domination of the search-engine market.
The internet-based company has been accused by market competitors of favouring their own content for search engine results. In addition, Google is accused of placing restrictions on advertisers, preventing them from moving their online campaigns to rival search engines. Another claim revolves around Google's supposed "exclusivity" to place advertisement around certain popular search terms.
The European Commission has been investigating these claims since 2010, allowing Google various opportunities to address these concerns.
If found guilty of breaching competition laws, Google could face a fine of up to $4 billion.
