The Football Association (FA) introduces sanctions for players found guilty of racist offenses in English leagues.

The sanctioning measures have been suggested by FA chairman David Bernstein, who spoke to several players on the issue.

"I've met with Rio and Anton Ferdinand, Jason Roberts, Clark Carlisle, Garth Crooks and a number of others and taken on board the comments and observations and concerns that they had, which are reflected in the papers that we've put out today," Bernstein said.

The sanctions were announced shortly after Lord Ouseley of the anti-racism campaign group Kick It Out argued that the English football authorities had not shown real leadership after different racist football incidents.

These incidents involve Liverpool striker Luis Suarez and Chelsea captain John Terry, whose racism hearing started in September 2012.

She is currently directing and presenting a series of short films on arts activism for Channel 4's Random Acts and hosted Resonance FM The Left Bank Show. She has desk-jockeyed as Deputy Foreign Editor at Sky News, fawned over Jon Snow's socks at Channel 4 News, and stood around a satellite truck looking important for APTN. In addition to a host of freelance commissions on arts, politics and civil liberties, she co-owns The Comment Factory and is part of a team that won some award for Innovation in Journalism. http://fryingpanfire.com/about/
