WikiLeaks releases more than one million documents, the largest publication of the whistleblower organization since July 2012.
The founder of WikiLeaks, Julian Assange, announced the release during his public speech from the balcony of the Ecuadorian Embassy in London, where he took refuge in June 2012.
Assange did not provide specific details about the content of the documents, but said that they would "affect every country in the world".
WikiLeaks has been leaking controversial documents since 2006, including more than 76,900 files about the Afghanistan war, almost 400,000 documents about the Iraq war and reports about the US State department diplomatic relations.
Assange has been hiding in the Ecuadorian Embassy to avoid extradition to Sweden, where he is accused of raping a woman and sexually molesting another.
The WikiLeaks founder is concerned that Sweden will transfer him to the US, where he could face the death penalty for leaking secret documents.
