Stockholm reveals its first monument to the legendary pop group Abba, known for the hits Dancing Queen and Waterloo, with a museum that is expected to attract thousands of visitors a year.
The museum's managing director Mattias Hansson, who refers to the group as "one of the most famous Swedish brands ever," says Abba The Museum will be as interactive as possible, including holographic features, old costumes and memorabilia from the band's tours.
Even though Björn Ulvaeus, one of Abba's two male singers, says he initially feared the museum would turn the group into "artefacts and relics," he is now the project's main supporter. "I realised someone had to take the full responsibility and it gradually dawned on me that I was the one," he explained.
The Abba-inspired musical Mamma Mia! is the longest-running musical ever on Broadway and London's West End.
