Extended Oscar nomination voting closes

The deadline for voting for the 2013 Oscar nominations expires a day later than originally set after it was extended due to reported problems with a new online voting system.
Several of the academy's 6,000 members had reported trouble
logging into the voting website and others complained the system was
confusing.
Organisers thus extended the deadline by 24 hours.
The measure was taken on the very first year the voting was allowed online. Previously, voting was conducted strictly via postal ballots. Voters can now choose whether to vote online or by postal ballots.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences said the move would "provide members and the public a longer period of time to see the nominated films".
Nominations for this year's awards will be announced on January 10, two weeks earlier than usual. The winners will be named on February 24.
