Spanish PM to meet Obama on US visit

Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy is expected to meet with US President Barack Obama at the White House while on an official visit to the US. In 2013 Rajoy is also scheduled to tour Chile, Peru, Panama and Algeria.
Rajoy's first visit will be to Algiers, where he will participate in the 5th High-Level Meeting between Spain and Algeria.
The main topics of discussion will include the economic crisis, the situation of countries affected by the "Arab Spring" and terror threats around the Sahel region.
Following this, the PM will travel to Chile at the end of January to participate in the European-Latin America and Caribbean Summit, which will be attended by leaders from both regions.
The next destination on the premier's agenda is Peru, where he will meet with President Ollanta Humala on an official state visit.
On February 4, Rajoy will meet with German Chancellor Angela Merkel at the annual bilateral summit in Berlin.
The second half of the year will see Rajoy attending the G20 Summit on September 5-6 in St. Petersburg, Russia, as well as the High-Level Meeting with Turkey, the Ibero-American Summit in Panama and a bilateral summit with Italy.
