Foreign leaders show support for Chavez

Chavez was scheduled to be sworn in as president for the fourth time on January 10 for another six-year term, after his re-election in the October 7 elections. His health problems, a relapsing cancer and a lung infection contracted upon recovery from the latest surgery have compelled the Venezuelan leader to postpone his inauguration.
The names of the leaders are not known as of yet.
"Friendly presidents, heads of government, and prime ministers are coming to Venezuela to show their solidarity with Commander Hugo Chavez, with the people and with the Constitution," Venezuela's National Assembly president Diosdado Cabello told the press.
The news was delivered after opponents of Chavez claimed that a failure to take office on the designated day would lead to a power vacuum. They plan to stage on the day a "civic strike" to counter a mass rally in support of the president in front of the presidential palace.
