A total of 96 Israeli embassies and consulates overseas are scheduled to open, the first of which is the Israeli embassy in New Zealand.
The election was originally scheduled for October 22, 2013, after the Knesset narrowly avoided dissolution over the unpopular Tal Law that exempts ultra-Orthodox Jews engaged in religious studies from military service.
Approximately 4,000 Israelis eligible to vote live outside of Israel.
