Syria's Mamlouk questioned by Lebanese authorities

Syrian official Ali Mamlouk is to be questioned by Lebanese authorities over his alleged role in a plot to carry out terrorist attacks in Lebanon.
Investigative Judge Riad Abu Ghayda announced the date for questioning by posting a notice at the entrance to Beirut's military court after he considered Mamlouk's place of residence as unknown.
Police informer Malid Kfouri, whose hearing was scheduled for January 28, will serve as a witness in the case.
Mamlouk has served as a special security adviser to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. He is one of many officials whose names have been included on European Union's 'black list' of people sanctioned for their role in the Syrian uprising.
