Newscaster Robin Roberts returns to her Good Morning America (GMA) anchor desk.
The American television broadcaster disclosed to GMA viewers in June 2012 that she had been diagnosed with MDS, a blood and bone marrow disease, and subsequently took a medical leave of absence.
Roberts made the announcement about her come-back on January 14, while appearing on the show from her home. The anchor said that her most recent bone marrow test showed no sign of the life-threatening ailment and expressed the hope that she would be "coming home" to GMA "in weeks, not months".
In July 2007, Roberts was diagnosed with an early form of breast cancer. She completed her treatment in March 2008.
