Montenegro holds presidential elections

|
Montenegro is scheduled to hold presidential elections for the second time since gaining independence in 2006.
The election is set to test the popularity of the Balkan country's long-serving ruling coalition.
Incumbent president Filip Vujanovic, from the governing Democratic Party of Socialists that has ruled Montenegro since the early 1990s, may run for re-election.
Miodrag Lekic, a former diplomat who has sought to unite Montenegro's divided opposition groups, is thought to be the main challenge in the polls.
Montenegro, which split from Serbia several years ago, has some 514,000 voters. In mid-2012 the EU gave it a green light to begin membership talks.
