Russia's lawmakers to vote on anti-gay legislation

Russian lawmakers are to vote on the anti-gay legislation supported by the Kremlin and the Russian Orthodox Church.
The law would make it illegal nationwide to provide minors with information that is considered a "propaganda of sodomy, lesbianism, bisexuality and transgenderism."
"This propaganda goes through the mass media and public events that propagate homosexuality as normal behavior," reads the anti-gay bill, which attempts to promote traditional Russian values as opposed to Western liberalism.
The bill has been described by some as part of Kremlin's crackdown on minorities, including political, religious and sexual.
