Obama may attend 50th anniversary of JFK's visit to Ireland

The US president is scheduled to travel to Northern Ireland to attend the 39th G8 Summit to be held on 17-18 June 2013 at the Lough Erne resort in Co Fermanagh.
When he traveled to County Wexford, his "ancestral homeland", in 1963 US President Kennedy was given a very warm reception. New Ross, nearby Wexford is the place where Patrick Kennedy, the president's great-grandfather, set sail for America during the 1848 Irish potato famine.
