Adele is set to perform her theme song for Skyfall
as part of a tribute to the James Bond film franchise at the Academy Awards.
After months of speculations about her possible performance at the ceremony, the Academy confirmed the news on January 23, tweeting to say they were "excited" to have the singer on board. A spokesman said: "Best 4 Words Ever: Adele Performing At #Oscars."
"We're so excited to have Adele perform Skyfall on this year’s #Oscars", he added.
Adele has described her upcoming performance as an "honour" and "terrifyingly
wonderful".
"It's an honour to be nominated and terrifyingly wonderful to be singing in front of people who have captured my imagination over and over again," she said. "It's something I've never experienced and probably only ever will once."
