Turkish PM visits Czech Rep. to meet top officials

During his stay, Erdogan is scheduled to hold a meeting with his Czech counterpart Petr Necas and the country's President Vaclav Klaus.
The Turkish PM's visit comes a few weeks after four Czech military liaison specialists left for Turkey to reinforce the allied airspace defence of the turbulent Turkish-Syrian border. The specialists are to operate in Turkey for three to four months.
Their departure to Turkey followed NATO's decision to reinforce the Turkish-Syrian border in December due to the violent situation in Syria and increasing tension between the two countries.
Apart from the Syrian issue, the sides are expected to discuss Turkey's EU accession efforts as the Czech Republic supports Turkey's cooperation with the union and the prospect of its entry.
