A fact-finding team set up by the European Parliament probes environmental hazard complaints on the Shannon estuary in Ireland.


The visit was prompted by complaints by local farmers in connection to the Aughinish Alumina plant in Askeaton, Co Limerick, and to the proposed Shannon liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility in Tarbert, Co Kerry.
