China launches a national organ donation network. The Chinese Ministry of Health has already completed a pilot donor scheme in 16 cities in China together with the Red Cross Society of China.


"Right after the upcoming Spring Festival, China's Red Cross Society and Health Ministry will host a meeting to launch the campaign to encourage the public to voluntarily donate," said Vice Health Minister Huang Jiefu.


Currently the percent of patients actually receiving organs is under 1 percent.
