Jorge is the 2006 Gold Award Winner for News Analysis, American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE). Jorge began his journalism career in Toronto, Canada as a Sports Editor and Live Game Producer with CHRY-FM. He later became the station's News Editor, leading an enterprising news organization and producing its flag hour-long daily newscast. He also produced a weekly news, public affairs and documentary show. Jorge traveled to Chile in 1998, beginning his career as a Foreign Correspondent. While in Latin America he filed reports for a range of news organizations, including CBC Radio; NPR and CBS Radio. He returned to Canada in 2000 to start Surinfonetwork.com, an online newspaper. During his stay in Canada he continued his collaboration with CBC Radio while filing regular news stories for Chile's Bio-Bio News Radio and the online newspaper El Mostrador.cl.
