The head of film for Channel 4 receives BAFTA's Outstanding Contribution to Cinema Award.
Since joining the broadcasting house, Tessa Ross has commissioned a number of award-winning dramas, including the hit series Shameless and the drama Sex Traffic, which deals with human slavery. Ross is also known for producing a number of distinguished films such as Danny Boyle's Slumdog Millionaire.
According to BAFTA chairman John Willis, "Tessa's impeccable taste and her passion for great writing and directing has shone through every film she has been involved with."
