President Obama visits Israel, Palestine for first time since in office

US President Barack Obama is expected to visit Israel and the Palestinian territory for the first time since he took office in 2009.
According to a White House official, Obama and Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu discussed the plans in a phone call on January 28.
Once landed, the president will meet with Israeli President Shimon Peres and will be given a tour of the Iron Dome system. He will later continue to meet the Israeli PM, a meeting that will be followed by a dinner.
The following day, he is scheduled to visit Israel Museum and the Shrine of the Book in Jerusalem. He will make a quick visit to Ramallah, where he is set to meet with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.
He will return to Jerusalem to give a speech at Binyanei Ha'uma (Israel Convention Center), visit the US Consulate and later dine with President Peres.
On the third day of his busy schedule, Obama will visit Mount Herzl, where he will lay a wreath on the tombs of Theodor Herzl and Yitzchak Rabin. He will then visit Yad Vashem and later meet with Labour leader Shelly Yechimovich, the opposition representative.
Obama will then make a visit to Bethlehem, where he will tour the Church of Nativity, and seal his visit to the holy land with a farewell ceremony at Ben Gurion airport.
