US World Cup alpine ski racer Lindsey Vonn undergoes surgery in Vail, Colorado after she sustained a series of injuries during a world championships crash in late January.


The sportswoman tore two ligaments in her right knee and broke a bone in her lower leg.


Vonn has announced plans to compete in the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, scheduled to start in 12 months.
