Premiers of Croatia and Slovenia meet to settle bank dispute that could affect Croatia's EU accession

Slovenia's Prime Minister Janez Jansa meets his Croatian counterpart Zoran Milanovic in a bid to resolve a long-standing dispute between the two countries over Croatian savings in Slovenia's Ljubljanska Banka. Unless the issue is resolved, it could stand in the way of Croatia's accession to the EU.
During a meeting on February 6 between both countries' foreign ministers, these reportedly agreed on a possible solution to the dispute and said that the issue could be resolved by March.
"The technical issues have been cleared out, now what remains is the political issue, and I believe there is a chance that we will convince our governments that this is the real political solution," Erjavec said after the meeting.
If the solution is accepted by both governments, Croatia could join the EU on July 1.
