Microsoft Corporation announces a deal to sell its Atlas ad-serving business to social networking service Facebook. 


The purchase price was not known prior to the deal but it was expected to be lower than $100 million.


The acquisition is seen as a sign of Facebook's plans to enhance its advertising activities.
