China compensates a woman who was held for three years in a disused morgue, in a move unusual for the Chinese government.
Chen Qingxia was held in the abandoned bungalow as punishment for petitioning in Beijing against her husband's imprisonment.
The government is set to pay medical bills and living expenses for Chen and her husband and step up efforts to find their young son, who became separated from his mother after her abduction in Beijing.
China has been sharply criticized by the West for its human rights record.
