BBC journalists hold a one-day strike to end compulsory redundancies.
"The BBC is prepared to waste public money on needless redundancies rather than secure redeployment opportunities for those at risk", Michelle Stanistreet, general secretary of The National Union of Journalists (NUJ) said.
According to the NUJ, the corporation is planning 30 redundancies affecting the areas of BBC Scotland, the Asian Network and the World Service among others.
