The International Olympic Committee's (IOC) General Assembly is due to vote on the 26th sport that shall form part of the 2020 Games.
Several sports are currently competing off the tracks, fields and courts for the last position on the Olympic Game line-up. The list of candidates consists of a combined bid from baseball and softball, karate, squash, roller sports, sport climbing, wakeboarding and wushu. As of its removal from the official list in February 2013, wrestling is also looking to once more enter into the Games.
To determine which sport makes the cut, the IOC Program Commission report analyzes more than three dozen criteria, including TV ratings, ticket sales and global participation.
