Lebanon's Union Coordination Committee holds an open-ended strike in demand for higher wages.

 

Under the threat of strikes by the Committee and the Transportation Drivers Union, Lebanon's Prime Minister Najib Mikati announed plans to send the controversial salary scale package to Parliament for approval.

 

The exact measures the Lebanese PM intends to take to fund the salary increase are yet to be revealed.
