India and the European Union sign a free trade agreement to boost bilateral commerce following a series of fifteen rounds of talks, which started in June 2007.
"Loose ends, if any, will be dealt with at the ministerial level in April," said India's Trade Minister Anand Sharma. "Both sides expect to be able to close negotiations by April 2013".
The minister added that the two sides are hoping "for a balanced and ambitious agreement".
