French food and drink company Danone is due to cut around 900 management and administrative positions across 26 European countries.
Danone announced a 3% fall in EU sales, citing a severe deterioration in consumer demand. However, the company reported a 5.4% overall rise in sales in 2012 from the previous year.
The company, owner of Activia yogurt and Evian bottled waters, is phasing out the cost-cutting plan throughout 2013.
