The fastest car in Lamborghini’s 50-year history is set to be unveiled at this year's Geneva motor show.


The new supercar is expected to be built in very limited numbers, possibly as few as two or as many as ten.


Details of the secret new model remain sketchy. But what is known is that it will be the latest surprise in lightweight carbon fibre production techniques.


"It will be a homologated car," Research and development head Maurizio Reggiano says.


"We want it to be a tribute to the [upcoming 50th] anniversary of Lamborghini and we want to shock and reward."
