A German union organises for security staff at Hamburg airport to go on strike, the latest in a string of walkouts over pay disputes.


The move comes after the union and private security companies that employ the workers failed to reconcile their differences over demands for a rise in pay. 


'Warning strikes' are a common tactic applied by workers in Germany to increase pressure during wage negotiations. 


Last week, dozens of flights were cancelled at Hamburg airport after workers carried out a two-day strike.
