Syria foreign minister visits Moscow to discuss ways to end crisis

Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem visits Moscow to discuss ways of ending the on-going crisis in Syria.
The move was announced by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov, who said Muallem would be visiting "to discuss the Syria crisis and measures aimed at beginning dialogue" with the rebel opposition.
Moscow had earlier invited the Syrian National Coalition opposition leader Ahmed Moaz al-Khatib, but received no response.
Khatib has stated that he would only meet Russian officials at a neutral location, since Moscow is an ally of the Assad regime.
